Thinking Day 1989 – 100th Anniversary of the Birth of Lady Baden-Powell

Victoria’s Anniversary Thinking Day on 25 February was truly memorable for the 16,000 brownies, guides, rangers and leaders who participated. Members from 28 regions converged on the Myer Music Bowl arriving by train, tram, car and on 150 specially chartered buses. The day started with a magnificent Opening Ceremony and finished with a wonderful Concert and finale. The day was full of fun, friendship, learning, pageantry and inspiration. Dozens of fascinating activities were presented ranging from Egyptian belly-dancing to Korean kite making and a Japanese Tea Ceremony.
