The Western Plains Region has three Divisions – Banongill, Grampians and Mortlake.

Irene Fairbairn was one of the best-known Guides and is remembered with a golden daffodil on the Region badge.

Banongill Division included the Districts of Beaufort, Cressy, Derrinallum and Skipton.

Grampians Division included the Districts of Ararat, Grampians, Great Western, Marnod, Stawell and Tatyoon.

Mortlake Division included the Districts of Caramut, Glenthompson, Lake Bolac, Mortlake and Willaura.

In 1961 Emu District was part of Banongill Division
