Eastern Region – Badge 2013

In 2012 there was a huge change to the Region boundaries with the existing 28 Regions reduced to eight.

Eastern Region then comprised seven Districts with groups in those Districts.

The Region included the old Regions of Acheron, Maroondah, part of East Metro, Outer Eastern and Dandenong Valley.

The Region is divided into seven Districts – Boroondara, Knox, Manningham, Maroondah, Monash, Whitehorse and Yarra Ranges.

The new badge includes many motifs from the old Regions, Divisions and Districts.

The campfire represents everyone.  Native chocolate lily is from the Dandenong area.  Whitehorse was the previous Maroondah Region badge and also refers to the road from Box Hill to Ringwood.  The Steam Train represents Puffing Billy and was part of the old Outer Eastern badge.  The red and white striped umbrella is from the Hawthorn area where Guiding first began in Victoria.  The sun rising over the hills signifies the Region in the east of Melbourne.  The Yarra River flows through the new Region.

The badge was first issued in 2013.
